SLPP has unequivocally denounced the recent instance of hate speech articulated by one of its members, Mr. Kadiru KaiKai, in a widely circulated video

In a promptly released press statement, the party emphasized its staunch stance against hate speech, violence, and intolerance within the nation, asserting that such behavior has no place in Sierra Leone.

The statement went on to declare the suspension of Mr. Abdul Kadiru Kaikai from the party pending a disciplinary hearing, during which further actions will be deliberated.

The SLPP reiterates its firm commitment to upholding the values of respect, unity, and peaceful coexistence, emphasizing that such acts of divisiveness have no part in the country’s trajectory.

The party’s response underscores the zero-tolerance policy towards any form of hate speech, emphasizing the importance of fostering an inclusive and harmonious society for all Sierra Leoneans.Meanwhile, the Sierra Leone Police has confirmed the arrest of Mr Kadiru. It could be recalled that in a recent recorded video, he threatened to bring war in the country if he is not made president come 2028. Many citizens including opposition members have condemned his statement labelling it as “reckless utterances”.
